General Description
The bq2040EVM is a complete evaluation system for the
bq2040 SBS v1.0 Compliant Gas Gauge IC. The EVM in
-
cludes one DM2040 circuit module, an EV2200 PC inter
-
face board for gas gauge evaluation, a PC serial cable, and
Windows based PC software. The DM2040 circuit module
includes one bq2040 IC, a sense resistor, four LEDs to dis-
play remaining capacity, and all other components
on-board necessary to monitor capacity and other critical
parameters in a Li-Ion battery pack. The DM2040 con-
nects directly across the cells in a battery. By using the
EV2200 interface board and software, the user can read
the bq2040 data registers and evaluate the functions of
the bq2040 under different charge/discharge conditions.
Each DM2040 included with a bq2040 Evaluation Kit is
pre-configured for a specified pack voltage, chemistry,
and pack capacity as outlined in Ordering Information.
The kits should be ordered on the basis of the pack volt

age and chemistry of the application.
