Product Discontinuation Notice
Overview
The purpose of this notification is to communicate that Xilinx is discontinuing the Spartan
-XL FPGA and the
XC9500 In-System Programmable CPLD products. This product discontinuance applies to
Commercial (C),
Industrial (I) and Automotive (Q) temperature grade products.
In addition, Xilinx is discontinuing all Automotive IQ Family offerings of Spartan
-II FPGA products and
CoolRunner
™ XPLA3 CPLD products - this discontinuance applies only to Automotive IQ (Q) temperature grade
products. The parts listed in this product discontinuation notice will be discontinued regardless if being used in an
automotive or non-automotive application. No Automotive “XA” products are affected by this notification.
Description
As part of Xilinx regular product pruning activities the Spartan-XL FPGA products, 5.0V XC9500 CPLD products
and some original Automotive IQ family products have been identified for obsolescence. A list of special products
under SCDs that are affected by this notice are also listed in this notice. (see
Appendix A – All SCD Products
Affected)
This notice should be used in conjunction with previous discontinuance notices which can be found at:
http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/customer_notices.htm.
The PROM devices used to configure Spartan-XL FPGA family devices have already been discontinued via
XCN09002. For details on final order and final delivery dates please consult the document at

The products affected include all standard part numbers and specification control document (SCD) versions of the
standard part numbers listed in this notice.

Key Dates and Ordering Information
Final orders are accepted until October 17, 2012.
Final deliveries must occur on or before April 20, 2013.
Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) for replacement devices will be accepted until October 17, 2013.
